MUSIC of joy and humour, sorrow and longing all feature in this year's International Festival of Chamber Music, presented by Belfast Music Society, in the scenic surroundings of the Great Hall at Queen's University.

The festival, running from Friday February 19 until Sunday February 21, brings together world-class artists and ensembles with leading local talents. Artists include the Dante Quartet, pianist Janina Fialkowska (all-Chopin recital), outstanding Northern Ireland musicians Ioana Petcu-Colan (violin) and Michael McHale (piano) and tenor Robin Tritschler - who will sing Schubert's Lieder alongside the world première of Belfast composer Philip Hammond's Lament for an Irish Rebel.

The festival will also showcase the best young performers currently studying at Queen's University in the annual Student Showcase Recital on Friday.

And Chamber Babies, live classical concerts for the very youngest listeners (0 to 18 months) takes place on Sunday, featuring violist Laura Sinnerton and violinist Rachel Grimes.
