1. When did you think about music as a career and what were your first steps into it?

When a careers teacher at school placed a massive careers book down in front of me at 15 and I didn’t open it at all, he said “Miss McGlinchey, are you not going to work at all then?” to which I replied “Hopefully not sir, for I’m going to be a singer, and if I accomplish that, sure it won’t be like working at all.” I started singing at weddings at 15 and realised there were many ways to climb the ladder in the music industry.

2. Best gigs you’ve been to?

The Script. Kodaline and Michael Bublé.

3. Fantasy wedding/birthday party band?

Bryan Adams.

4. The record you’d take to a desert island?

I’d want to chill out so maybe a bit of Norah Jones.

5. And the book?

Never Say Goodbye by Linda Kavanagh.

6. Top three films?

Taken, No Escape, P.S. I Love You.

7. Worst film you’ve seen?

I’m not a fan of scary movies. My sister made me watch Annabelle (2014) and I hated it.

9. Sports you most enjoy and top teams?

I’m not sporty at all, but I do enjoy Gaelic and hurling.

People chewing with their mouth open.

12. What’s your favourite:

Dinner: Gammon with cauliflower & cheese sauce & spuds.

Dessert: Crème brulee.

Drink: Pinot Grigio.

13. Who is your best friend and how do you know each other?

My mammy has always been my best friend and always will be. We talk about everything and I always look for her approval and opinion because, after all, mammies know best!

14. Is there a God?

There must be. In the words of [late Irish comedian] Dave Allen, “May your God go with you.”
