THE Sands Family are on the road, with a series of concerts around the north. Having taken in Castleblayney, Armagh and Lisburn last week, they play the Burnavon Theatre, Cookstown, tonight, the Ardhowen Theatre in Enniskillen tomorrow night and Newry's Canal Court Hotel on Sunday.
Gifted writers and skilled entertainers all – as well as talented musicians –Anne, Ben, Colum and Tommy Sands, from Mayobridge, Co Down, are renowned for striking up an immediate and intimate rapport with their audiences and are one of the very few remaining great bands of the 70s Irish folk revival.
