An evening with Ian McCulloch, Thursday August 27, Bangor Abbey.

'MAC The Mouth' returns to the north for an intimate solo 'experience' as part of the Open House Festival next week.

This 'evening with' event promises Echo & The Bunnymen fans something a bit different from the average gig, comprising a fluid mix of unplugged songs and plenty of chat.

Recent performances in this vein have left some punters frustrated, as the Bunnymen man apparently has a tendency to truncate tunes in order to start another one, share an anecdote or field questions from the audience.

However, if you're up for something a little more spontaneous and informal than a straight-up run through Echo's greatest hits, this could be the closest you'll ever get to just hanging out with one of the great '80s frontmen and his incredible songbook.

In lieu of the autobiography McCulloch apparently can't be arsed writing, the chat alone should be well worth the £25 ticket price.
