Don't miss: The Man From UNCLE

DON'T be fooled by last week's tepid review or director Guy Ritchie's chequered reputation: the former Mr Madonna's uber-stylish big screen version of classic TV spy series The Man From UNCLE is terrific fun from start to finish.

Henry 'Man of Steel' Cavill is perfectly cast as suave, improbably-named thief turned CIA espionage expert Napoleon Solo, who's reluctantly paired-up with beefy, temperamental KGB spook Illya Kuryakin (the improbably-named Armie Hammer)

Assisted by Gabby Teller (Alicia Vikander), a pouty, car-crazed Kraut, they go undercover in swinging early-1960s Italy to track down a nuclear expert who may be building a bomb for a billionaire fascist.

Thus commences UNCLE's gloriously stylish '60s spy game pastiche, a thoroughly entertaining rollercoaster ride of sleight-of-hand subterfuge, night-time infiltrations, car chases, fisticuffs and shoot-outs.

It's chock-full of the kind of mindlessly enjoyable, knowingly campy fun once trademarked by the Bond franchise.

Even Hugh Grant is good in it – I kid you not.
