Senser, Saturday August 1, Sunflowerfest, Tubby's Farm, Hillsborough

THE addition of mid-90s alternative heroes Senser to this year's Sunflowerfest line-up has caused much excitement among those who remember these metal riffing, rap-spitting, politically righteous London types as a band guaranteed to incite mosh-pits of epic proportion.

Documented on epic early singles like Eject, No Comply, Switch and Age of Panic, Senser's confrontational, genre-melding, technology-assisted sound was a bit like Rage Against The Machine crossed with Pop Will Eat Itself, making them a favourite with broad-minded indie, punk and metal fans 'back in the day' – plus grebos, crusties and other festival-going folks who likely also appreciated Dreadzone (who play Sunflowerfest the night before, coincidentally) and The Prodigy in their 'electronic punks' phase.

It's a particularly great time to be catching up with Senser as they're currently playing their recently reissued debut LP Stacked Up (a top five hit back in 1994) in full, featuring all the aforementioned favourites plus other goodies like States of Mind and The Key.

Lace your DMs tight – this one is going to be bouncy.
