THIS wonderfully warped tragi-comic gem is one of the best things on TV at the moment. Starring US stand-up and actor Louie CK, Louie offers a fictionalised (we pray) version of the cult comedian's life in the proud tradition of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Each week finds the loveable loser getting himself into new and usually hilariously humiliating binds while being a moderately successful funnyman in New York City.
Recent lows have included a toilet emergency while shopping with his teen daughters, a disastrous 'romantic' encounter with a surrogate mother, a night out from hell with his sister's macho cop ex-boyfriend and being beaten up at the bus stop by a crazy woman.
Now in its fifth season, each 23-minute episode of Louie delivers bite-sized brilliance that's guaranteed to have you chuckling long after the credits have rolled.
