All the reaction to Chris Ward's acquittal for the Northern Bank robbery has centred on two matters: first, on whether he should ever have been prosecuted - no, because if his defence could find out that the rota for the weekend had been shown around and pinned on the back of a door for all to see, so could the police and therefore any prosecution would fail.
