Shares jump may signal takeover bid at Morton

A 63-year-old Malaysian billionaire is due to acquire the Belfast News Letter and a raft of weekly newspaper titles in Northern Ireland, according to fresh speculation.
Shares in the News Letter's parent company Johnston Press - which also owns the Morton Newspaper Group in Portadown - enjoyed their biggest single-day jump in nearly 20 years yesterday.
